Acceptance
By using AppCrib (appcrib.com) or any tool hosted on it, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the site. AppCrib is operated by Infinite Orchard, Inc. (“Infinite Orchard,” “we,” or “us”), a Texas corporation.
What AppCrib is
AppCrib is a portfolio of small, focused browser-based tools (formatters, converters, calculators, and similar utilities). The tools are free to use, ad-supported, and run entirely in your browser. There is no account, no login, and no backend processing the content you paste or type into a tool.
Because the site is shipped as a static export, there is nothing server-side to sign up for and nothing we can retrieve about what you did inside a tool after you close the tab.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use AppCrib. If you're using it on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Acceptable use
You may use AppCrib for personal or commercial purposes, on as many projects as you like, with no attribution required. A short list of things you may not do:
- Scrape, crawl, or automate the site in a way that burdens our hosting or distorts ad metrics.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or repackage our tools and ship them as your own product.
- Use the tools to process content that violates applicable law (for example, content that infringes others' rights or is illegal to create or distribute).
- Interfere with, disable, or circumvent security features, ad delivery, or the normal operation of the site.
- Use the tools to build or train machine learning systems that substitute for AppCrib itself.
Your content stays yours
Anything you paste, type, or generate inside an AppCrib tool (JSON you format, colors you pick, calculations you run, and so on) belongs to you. We don't receive it, don't store it, and don't claim any rights to it. The tools run client-side, which is the only reason we can make that claim credibly.
Tool outputs are yours to use however you like. No license from us is required to use them.
Our content
The AppCrib site, the tools, the source code we haven't released under an open-source license, the brand names, the designs, and the written content are owned by Infinite Orchard, Inc. or its licensors. “AppCrib” and “Infinite Orchard” are our trademarks. Using the site doesn't grant you any ownership or license in those assets beyond what these terms allow.
Some tools rely on open-source libraries (for example, Jqbin runs the jq 1.8 engine compiled to WebAssembly). Those libraries remain under their original licenses and their authors retain their rights. Nothing in these terms changes that.
Third-party services
AppCrib loads a small number of third-party scripts to pay for the site and to understand which tools are worth continuing to improve:
- Google AdSense for display advertising.
- Infolinks for in-text and display advertising.
- Google Tag Manager for tag configuration.
- PostHog for privacy-preserving product analytics (in-memory, no session recording, respects Do Not Track).
- Google Fonts and Font Awesome (via cdnjs) for typography and icons.
Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We don't control what they do. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and opt-outs.
No warranties
AppCrib and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Tool results (JSON output, paint quantities, conversion numbers, tax estimates, and so on) are offered for convenience and may be wrong. Don't rely on them for decisions that matter without checking.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Infinite Orchard, Inc. and its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of AppCrib, including (but not limited to) lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or reliance on tool output, whether the claim sounds in contract, tort, or any other theory.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site or its tools will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00). Since the tools are free, this reflects the nature of what you're using. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, and in those places, this section applies only to the extent permitted.
Availability
We may add, change, rename, deprecate, or remove any tool at any time without notice. We don't guarantee uptime or that any specific tool will continue to exist. The site is static and usually dependable, but we make no promises.
Contacting us
If you reach out through our contact form or by email, you give us permission to read your message and reply. We may also quote the content of your message internally to diagnose issues or inform future tools. Don't send confidential information you wouldn't want a small team to read.
Please don't send unsolicited ideas for new tools that you expect to be compensated for. We receive feedback from many people and can't track who suggested what.
Indemnification
If your use of AppCrib causes a claim against us by a third party (for example, because you used a tool to process content you weren't allowed to), you agree to defend and indemnify Infinite Orchard, Inc. from that claim, including reasonable attorneys' fees.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of AppCrib after an update means you accept the revised terms. If a change is material, we'll do our best to flag it (for example, in a site banner or a blog post).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to AppCrib will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
