Walltly is a free paint calculator built for accent walls. You enter your wall dimensions, pick a surface type, choose how many coats, and subtract any doors or windows. It tells you how many gallons you need and what it will cost.
Everything runs in your browser. No server, no account, no data stored. You get your answer and go buy paint.
How It Works
Wall Dimensions
Enter width and height in feet and inches for accurate area.
Surface Type
Smooth walls cover ~375 sq ft/gal. Textured walls cover ~275 sq ft/gal.
Coat Count
Choose 1, 2, or 3 coats. Dramatic color changes usually need more.
Subtract Openings
Remove doors, windows, and custom openings from paintable area.
Cost Estimate
See prices at budget, mid-range, and premium paint tiers.
Shopping List

Paint Coverage Basics
Coverage tells you how many square feet one gallon will cover in a single coat. The actual rate depends on surface texture.
Smooth Surface
- 350-400 sq ft per gallon
- Paint sits on top, less absorbed
- Standard nap roller (3/8 in.) works well
Textured Surface
- 250-300 sq ft per gallon
- Paint fills texture gaps, more absorbed
- Thicker nap roller (1/2-3/4 in.) recommended
Coat count matters too. Most color changes need 2 coats. Going from light to dark (or dark to light) usually needs 3. Same-color touch-ups often only need 1.
