Sober is a free, browser-based utility tool operated by Infinite Orchard. This page contains our privacy policy and terms of service. By using Sober, you agree to the terms described below.
Sober performs all BAC calculations entirely within your web browser. No data is uploaded to any server. Your drinking data stays on your device.
We do not transmit, store, cache, or log any content you provide to the tool. When the tool produces an output, that output is generated in your browser's memory. No copies are created on any remote system.
When you first visit Sober, you are presented with a consent prompt. This prompt allows you to accept or decline non-essential services before they are activated. No analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or third-party cookies are loaded until you make a choice.
You can change your consent preferences at any time by clicking the consent settings link in the site footer. If you decline all non-essential services, Sober will function normally without analytics or advertisements.
If you consent to analytics, Sober uses PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. This includes information such as page views, session duration, and general browser and device type.
PostHog does not collect personally identifiable information. No names, email addresses, or IP addresses are stored in our analytics. Analytics data is used solely to understand how the tool is used and to improve the experience.
If you do not consent to analytics, PostHog is not loaded and no usage data is collected.
Sober is a free tool supported by advertising. We work with one or more third-party advertising networks to display ads on this site. The specific networks in use may change over time as we evaluate the best fit for our tools and our users.

BAC estimates are approximations based on the Widmark formula and should never be used to determine fitness to drive or operate machinery. Individual metabolism, medications, food intake, and other factors affect actual BAC levels. Always err on the side of caution. If you have consumed any alcohol, do not drive.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Infinite Orchard and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Sober.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Sober shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the tool, which is zero.
Sober relies on third-party services for analytics and advertising as described in the privacy policy above. We are not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of these third-party services.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Sober at any time without notice. We are not obligated to maintain, update, or continue operating any tool in our portfolio.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Pennsylvania.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
