Know when you're clear.
Sober is a free blood alcohol content (BAC) estimator. You enter your weight, biological sex, what you drank, and how long ago. It gives you a number and a countdown to zero.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is saved, and there's no account to create. You just open the page and use it.
The math behind Sober is the Widmark formula, published in 1932 by Swedish scientist Erik M. P. Widmark. It's the same formula used in forensic toxicology and DUI cases.
That 0.015 is the average rate your body clears alcohol, about one standard drink per hour. Your actual rate depends on many factors the formula can't measure.
People who drink craft beer, wine, or cocktails and want to know when they're safe to drive. More specifically:
It's the state you're trying to reach. No acronym, no wordplay. You drank something, now you want to know when you'll be sober. That's the tool.
This is a calculator, not a breathalyzer. The number it gives you is an estimate based on averages. Your body might process alcohol faster or slower depending on what you ate, how hydrated you are, medications, genetics, and plenty of other variables.
If you're wondering whether you should drive, the honest answer is probably don't.
