Diffpad is a free, browser-based semantic diff tool operated by Infinite Orchard. This page explains what data we collect, what we do not collect, and how third-party services on this site handle information.

How Diffpad Works

Diffpad performs all processing entirely within your web browser. No files, inputs, or outputs are uploaded to any server. Your data stays on your device at all times.

We do not transmit, store, cache, or log any content you provide to the tool. When the tool produces a diff output, that output is generated in your browser's memory. No copies are created on any remote system.

Consent

When you first visit Diffpad, you are presented with a consent prompt. This prompt lets you accept or decline non-essential services before they activate. No analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or third-party cookies load until you make a choice.

You can change your consent preferences at any time from the site footer. If you decline all non-essential services, Diffpad will work normally without analytics or advertisements.

Analytics

If you consent to analytics, Diffpad uses PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views, session duration, and general browser and device type.

PostHog does not collect personally identifiable information. No names, email addresses, or IP addresses are stored in our analytics. If you do not consent, PostHog is not loaded and no usage data is collected.

Advertising

Diffpad is a free tool supported by advertising. We work with one or more third-party advertising networks to display ads on this site. The specific networks in use may change over time.

If you consent to advertising: Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve relevant ads and to measure ad performance. We select partners that maintain responsible data practices and prioritize privacy-conscious, contextual advertising where available.

If you do not consent to advertising: Advertising scripts are not loaded and no ad-related cookies are set.

Ad placements are clearly separated from the tool interface. Ads are never placed on or adjacent to interactive controls.

Cookies

Diffpad itself does not set any first-party cookies for tracking purposes. The only first-party data stored locally is your consent preference and theme setting. Third-party cookies may be set by analytics or advertising services, but only after you have given consent.

Data We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, Diffpad does not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your JSON, YAML, or any other data you paste into the tool
• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your IP address
• Your precise geographic location
• Any information that could identify you personally

Children's Privacy

Diffpad is a general-purpose utility tool not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Limitation of Liability

Infinite Orchard is not liable for any damages arising from your use of Diffpad, including but not limited to data loss or reliance on the tool's output.

Third-Party Services

Diffpad may include third-party analytics and advertising. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Diffpad at any time without notice.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

Severability
